According to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Lisbon Post, the crash occurred around 6 p.m. along State Route 45 near mile marker 23 in Perry Township. Authorities said a 1994 Oldsmobile, driven by a 23-year-old Steubenville man, was traveling northbound when it veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a pedestrian in the area.<\/p>\n
The pedestrian was identified as Amanda Speigle, 35, of Salem. Officials reported that she suffered severe, life-threatening injuries as a result of the impact. Emergency personnel arrived quickly and provided urgent care at the scene before arranging for her to be flown by STAT MedEvac to a nearby hospital.
