Family members, friends, and members of the Lincoln community are mourning the tragic loss of Jon Jefferson, 52, who was killed in a devastating three-vehicle crash Friday morning on Old Furnace Road in Georgetown.<\/p>\n
According to Delaware State Police, the crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. in the 14100 block of Old Furnace Road, west of Rementer Road. Investigators say Jefferson was driving a Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed the center line, sideswiped a Toyota Sienna, and then collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue traveling in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews responded to the scene, where they found a rollover crash with entrapment and multiple injured victims. One vehicle required extrication, which was completed around 7:52 a.m. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Jefferson was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Two other drivers were injured in the crash. A 50-year-old woman from Georgetown was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 33-year-old man from Seaford was flown by Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 2 to an area hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n
