A husband and wife were killed Sunday afternoon after a large tree fell onto their vehicle in Leake County, Mississippi.<\/p>\n
According to Leake County Coroner Earl Adams, the incident occurred on Mars Hill Road around 1:20 p.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a tree falling on a vehicle.<\/p>\n
The Leake County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Brandon Moore, 39, and Sandra Moore, 40, were traveling south on Mars Hill Road in a white Toyota RAV4 when a large pine tree fell across the front compartment of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Both Brandon and Sandra Moore were pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Adams.<\/p>\n
Authorities believe the fatal incident was weather-related. The Leake County Sheriff\u2019s Office is continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Sheriff Randy Atkinson expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the couple.<\/p>\n
