A man was killed and four others injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston, according to police.<\/p>\n
Boston police confirmed the victim as 26-year-old Jose Dantes of Brockton, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. on June 27, 2026, when officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 1447 Blue Hill Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds across several locations, including the 1439 and 1460 blocks of Blue Hill Avenue.<\/p>\n
Dantes was found in the area of 1460 Blue Hill Avenue, where he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A fifth victim later self-transported to a hospital outside the city before being transferred to a local facility, also with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The Boston Police Department\u2019s Homicide Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detectives are working to determine what led to the violence and are reviewing evidence and witness statements.<\/p>\n
