Two Breaux Bridge men were killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on a rural highway outside Arnaudville, according to the Louisiana State Police.<\/p>\n
Authorities identified the victims as 32-year-old Kiemonte Pigott and 30-year-old Darius Haywood, both of Breaux Bridge. Troopers said it has not yet been determined which man was driving at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n
The crash occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 686 near Moise Mallet Road, southeast of Arnaudville. Investigators said a 2010 Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound when it approached a curve in the roadway, veered off the highway, entered a ditch, and overturned.<\/p>\n
According to officials, both occupants were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Pigott was pronounced dead at the scene. Haywood sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n
Troopers have not yet released details on what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, and it remains unclear whether factors such as speed, impairment, or road conditions played a role.<\/p>\n
The Louisiana State Police said the investigation is ongoing as they continue to gather evidence and reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.<\/p>\n
