With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Centreville community are mourning the tragic loss of Dekevion Andrews, 19, and Donovan Jackson, 22, following a mass shooting near Orchard Cafe on Highway 24 early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
According to Wilkinson County Coroner Ronnie Fisher, both Andrews and Jackson were among nine people shot in the incident. Deputies responded after multiple gunshot victims began arriving at Fields Health System around 12:55 a.m. Despite efforts by medical teams, both Dekevion Andrews and Donovan Jackson were later pronounced dead at the hospital in Centreville. Their bodies were transported to Jackson, Mississippi, for autopsy at the state crime lab.<\/p>\n
Seven others were also injured in the shooting. Three victims were transported to an out-of-area trauma center for further treatment, while four others were treated and released.
