Two people were killed following a tragic collision between a motorcycle and a Ford Raptor along the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) in Cebu City on Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2026, at around 2:10 p.m., according to authorities.<\/p>\n
Police said the motorcycle rider, identified as Bernel Navares, was declared dead at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the crash. His backrider, Krystal Claire Mondares, was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but was later pronounced dead on arrival despite medical efforts to save her life.<\/p>\n
Based on the initial investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Cebu City Police Office, the motorcycle and a Ford Raptor driven by 23-year-old John Tabacon of Barangay Pooc, Talisay City, were traveling in opposite directions along the highway when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the motorcycle was traveling along the northbound lane when it allegedly made a sudden U-turn, entering the path of the oncoming Ford Raptor. The driver of the pickup reportedly attempted to brake in an effort to avoid the collision but was unable to stop in time due to the short distance between the vehicles.<\/p>\n
The impact of the crash was severe, throwing both motorcycle occupants onto the pavement. Police further reported that the victims were dragged approximately 25 meters from the point of impact, resulting in fatal injuries to both riders.<\/p>\n
