With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Princeton, Minnesota, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jeffrey Geisler, 60; Susan Geisler; and their son Steven Geisler, 16, whose lives ended following a tragic three-vehicle crash in Princeton Township, Mille Lacs County, on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 3 p.m. near 7702 Highway 95 in Princeton Township. Authorities said an 80-year-old woman from Princeton, Marilyn Marshall, was driving a Honda SUV westbound on Highway 95 near 75th Avenue when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound Volkswagen sedan carrying the Geisler family.<\/p>\n
Officials said Marilyn Marshall was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Inside the Volkswagen were Jeffrey Geisler, 60, of Princeton, who was driving, his wife Susan Geisler, and their children, including Steven Geisler, 16. Jeffrey and Susan were both killed at the scene. Steven was transported to a hospital with serious injuries but later succumbed to the injuries he suffered in the crash.<\/p>\n
An 18-year-old female passenger in the Volkswagen was also seriously injured and remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Authorities said the driver of a third vehicle, a Nissan sedan, was not injured after a tire from one of the other vehicles struck the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The Minnesota State Patrol continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine what led to the Honda SUV crossing into oncoming traffic.<\/p>\n
The tragic loss of Jeffrey, Susan, and Steven Geisler has left their family, friends, and the Princeton community devastated. Three members of one family were taken far too soon, leaving behind loved ones who will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and moments they shared together.<\/p>\n
