A late-night shooting in Hot Springs has left one man dead and another person in custody, according to local police. Authorities say the incident occurred late Friday night and is being investigated as a homicide.<\/p>\n
Hot Springs Police reported that officers were dispatched at approximately 11:48 p.m. on Friday to the area of Carl Drive after receiving reports of gunfire. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n
Despite emergency efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later identified him as 45-year-old Nathan Lynch.<\/p>\n
Following initial response and scene processing, officers began interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence related to the shooting. Authorities say those interviews led them to identify a suspect believed to have been involved in an altercation with Lynch shortly before the shooting occurred.<\/p>\n
Police located and detained 34-year-old Jace Dickey, who investigators say had been involved in an argument with the victim that escalated into gunfire. According to authorities, the confrontation between the two men is believed to have directly led to the fatal shooting.<\/p>\n
After further questioning, Dickey was taken into custody and formally charged with first-degree murder. He was transported to the Garland County Detention Center, where he remains pending further legal proceedings.<\/p>\n
