WAGONER, Okla. \u2014 A 77-year-old man has died following a fiery multi-vehicle crash near the intersection of Highway 69 and Highway 51 in Wagoner on Tuesday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
Authorities identified the victim as William Thornton, 77.<\/p>\n
According to OHP, Thornton was driving when he failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the path of another vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 69. The impact caused Thornton\u2019s vehicle to be pushed into a third vehicle that was stopped in the highway\u2019s center turn lane.<\/p>\n
Troopers said all three vehicles involved in the collision became engulfed in flames following the crash.<\/p>\n
A fourth vehicle, which was stopped behind the third vehicle in the center turn lane, was also struck by debris from the collision, according to investigators.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but Thornton was unable to survive his injuries.<\/p>\n
