A 29-year-old firefighter\/paramedic was killed and another person was injured following a tragic three-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Pepper Pike, according to police.<\/p>\n
The Pepper Pike Police and Fire Departments were dispatched at approximately 2:48 a.m. to the area of Fairmount Boulevard near Brainard Road after receiving reports of a vehicle crash with injuries.<\/p>\n
When officers and emergency crews arrived, they discovered that three vehicles were involved in the collision. An adult man and woman were found between two of the vehicles suffering from serious injuries, and life-saving measures were immediately performed.<\/p>\n
The woman was transported by the Pepper Pike Fire Department for medical treatment and was later reported to be in stable condition. The man, identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office as 29-year-old Cameron Duvall, died from his injuries at the scene.<\/p>\n
Cameron Duvall was a Firefighter\/Paramedic with the North Randall Fire Department, and his death has left his family, friends, colleagues, and the firefighting community mourning his loss.<\/p>\n
According to the Pepper Pike Police Department, the preliminary investigation found that the crash began when a vehicle became disabled after suffering a flat tire. The driver of that vehicle was at the scene calling for roadside assistance when a man and woman arrived to help. The two individuals parked in front of the disabled vehicle and were assisting near the trunk area when a third motorist struck them and the disabled vehicle.<\/p>\n
Police said the driver of the third vehicle was arrested following the crash and is facing several charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.<\/p>\n
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the collision.<\/p>\n
