Family, friends, and members of the skydiving community are mourning the heartbreaking and tragic loss of Dustin McKinney and Jen Sharp, who were among 12 people killed after a skydiving plane crashed near Butler Memorial Airport in Butler, Missouri, on Sunday morning in a devastating aviation tragedy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to authorities, the deadly crash involved a PAC750 aircraft carrying 11 skydivers and one pilot when it went down near Business 49 Highway in Bates County, leaving all 12 occupants dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Emergency officials confirmed that the aircraft had departed from Butler Memorial Airport shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday. Investigators say the pilot turned the plane back shortly after takeoff for reasons that remain unknown. Moments later, the aircraft crashed into a field near Butler.<\/p>\n

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that all 12 people on board were killed in the crash. Emergency crews conducted extensive searches of the surrounding area to determine whether any skydivers may have exited the aircraft before impact, but later confirmed that all occupants were accounted for.<\/p>\n

Authorities say the victims included Dustin McKinney, Jen Sharp, and 10 other individuals whose identities are being formally confirmed as next of kin notifications continue. Officials have emphasized that full identification will be released only after families are properly notified.<\/p>\n

Multiple agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), along with local and state emergency responders, are actively investigating the cause of the crash. At this time, officials have not determined what led the pilot to turn the aircraft around or what caused the fatal descent.<\/p>\n

Nearby roads were closed for several hours as emergency crews secured the scene, documented wreckage, and began the process of collecting evidence for the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
