An Alliance woman has died following a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning at the intersection of U.S. 62 and Harmont Avenue NE in Canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n
According to the Canton Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 10:27 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving two vehicles.<\/p>\n
Investigators said a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on U.S. 62 when it collided with a 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage that was turning south onto Harmont Avenue from westbound U.S. 62.<\/p>\n
The impact forced both vehicles into the southeast corner of the intersection, causing the Chevrolet Silverado to overturn. Police said the driver of the Mitsubishi Mirage, identified as 30-year-old Erin Stevens of Alliance, had to be removed from the vehicle due to the severity of the crash.<\/p>\n
Both drivers were transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was treated and released, while Stevens was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
The Canton Metro Crash Team is investigating the crash. Authorities said speed is not believed to have been a factor, and it is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol played a role.<\/p>\n
