Family, friends, and members of the Winnipeg community are mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Ronald Alexander Grego Findlay, 55, who died following a violent stabbing incident on June 18, 2026, in the 100 block of Henry Avenue.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers were called to the area at approximately 1:18 p.m. after reports of a stabbing. North and Central District General Patrol officers responded to the scene, with assistance from the Tactical Support Team (TST) and the Rapid Response Unit (RRU). Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from serious upper-body injuries while emergency medical personnel with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were already providing urgent care.
Investigators said the victim had been involved in an unprovoked altercation with an adult male suspect, who allegedly approached him and produced a weapon before fleeing the scene after the attack. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the victim was transported to hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.
He has been identified as 55-year-old Ronald Alexander Grego Findlay of Winnipeg.
