Foxworth Man Turns Himself In After Deadly Shooting of Jessica Ruby in Marion County

A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman who was found injured Friday night in Marion County, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Raymond Johnson turned himself in on Friday night and has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jessica Ruby.

Authorities said Ruby was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound along the Highway 35 Bypass near Jones Lake. Emergency responders transported her to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries, according to Marion County Coroner Jessie Graham.

Marion County Investigator Jamie Singley said Johnson and Ruby knew each other, and an altercation between the two reportedly led to the shooting. Officials have not released additional details regarding what caused the dispute or what may have escalated the incident to gunfire.

Following the arrest, authorities confirmed that Johnson voluntarily turned himself in to law enforcement. He remains in custody as the investigation continues and the case moves forward through the judicial process.
