WILMINGTON TWP. — A tragic motorcycle crash in Mercer County on Saturday, July 4, claimed the life of one man and left two other people with minor injuries following a collision at a rural intersection.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pulaski Mercer Road and New Castle Road in Wilmington Township.
Investigators reported that a motorcyclist was traveling through the intersection when he allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign before entering New Castle Road. His motorcycle was then struck by an SUV traveling along New Castle Road, which does not have a stop sign at the intersection.

The victim has been identified as Scott Arnold, 59.
The driver of the SUV and a passenger inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries, according to the police report. Their identities have not been released, and no additional information regarding their conditions has been made public.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Preliminary findings indicate that the motorcycle entered the intersection after reportedly traveling past the stop sign, though the investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine all contributing factors.
The sudden loss of Scott Arnold has left family, friends, and members of the community mourning his passing. His death marks another heartbreaking reminder of the dangers that can arise at intersections and the importance of observing traffic signs and right-of-way rules.
