Friends, family, and members of the Cincinnati community are united in deep sorrow as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of 21-year-old Kimora Manuel and 22-year-old Le’Marea Holmes, whose lives were tragically cut short in a devastating head-on collision early Sunday morning on U.S. 52 near State Road 46 in northern Dearborn County, Indiana.
The fatal crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Indiana State Police. Investigators said a 2020 Honda Civic traveling westbound attempted to pass another vehicle in a marked no-passing zone and remained in the opposite lane of travel. In those critical moments, the vehicle collided head-on with an eastbound Volvo semi-truck pulling a box trailer. The impact was severe and unforgiving, bringing the semi-truck to a stop in the roadway while the smaller vehicle left the highway and came to rest down an embankment.
Authorities confirmed that both Kimora Manuel and Le’Marea Holmes were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. Their sudden passing has left a deep emptiness in the hearts of all who knew them, turning a quiet morning into one of unimaginable grief.
Loved ones describe Kimora and Le’Marea as radiant young women whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and light into every space they entered. They were cherished daughters, beloved friends, and irreplaceable souls whose kindness and energy left lasting impressions on everyone around them. Their memories are now being held close, spoken of with love, and honored through tears, prayers, and heartfelt tributes.
The pain of their loss has rippled through Cincinnati, where friends and community members are struggling to accept that two bright lives have been taken so suddenly. Messages of love, disbelief, and sorrow continue to pour in, reflecting just how deeply they were valued and adored.
The driver of the Honda Civic, 23-year-old Kelis Manuel of Fairfield, Ohio, along with another rear-seat passenger, sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported to Cincinnati-area hospitals for urgent care. The semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries. Investigators have noted that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, though toxicology results remain pending. Heavy rainfall at the time is also being considered.
As the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues its investigation, the focus for many has shifted to remembrance, love, and honoring the lives that were lost. In the hearts of those who knew them, Kimora Manuel and Le’Marea Holmes will forever be remembered not for how they left this world, but for the beauty, love, and light they brought into it.
