Tucson Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Santa Cruz Wash

TUCSON, Ariz. — A woman found dead Thursday morning in the Santa Cruz wash south of West Silverlake Road has been identified by Tucson police as 44-year-old Tiffanie A. Miguel. Authorities confirmed that her family has been notified.

According to the Tucson Police Department, officers responded to the area after receiving a report of a possible body in the wash. Upon arrival, officers, along with crews from the Tucson Fire Department, located the deceased woman in the waterway.

Officials have not released any information regarding how she died, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police said no further details are expected at this time as detectives continue to review the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

The case comes less than 24 hours after emergency crews responded to a separate incident involving flash flooding in the Santa Cruz River near Interstate 19 and Ajo Way, where eight people were rescued and a ninth person was reported missing following dangerous water conditions.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected, and investigators continue to examine all possibilities as part of the ongoing investigation.

The case remains active as officials work to determine what led to the woman’s death.
