Family members, friends, and members of the Houston community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Angelika Anahi Loredo, 26, who was found dead Thursday inside an apartment in southwest Houston following a suspected domestic-related shooting.
According to Houston police, the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the 8700 block of Gustine Lane. Officers were dispatched after reports of a shooting inside a residence. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Loredo deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
A man was also found inside the apartment suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. His identity has not been released, and investigators have not confirmed his relationship to Loredo.
Police said three children were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting — two 10-year-olds and a 3-year-old. Investigators stated the children reportedly heard a gunshot from inside the residence before running to a nearby relative’s apartment, where 911 was called. Authorities confirmed the children were not physically injured.
Preliminary findings suggest the case may involve a domestic-related homicide followed by an attempted suicide, though officials emphasized the investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the exact circumstances.
