Two Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide, Sheriff Says

Two people were found dead following an apparent murder-suicide in west Hamblen County, according to Sheriff Chad Mullins.

Authorities said deputies responded to a home on the evening of June 21 after receiving reports from the residence. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two individuals inside the home who had died from gunshot wounds.

The victims have been identified as 49-year-old Beverly Hunt and 51-year-old James Hunt. Investigators believe the incident was a murder-suicide.

Officials also reported that a family pet was found dead inside the residence from a gunshot wound.

The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office said no additional details have been released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities continue to gather information to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
