Family members, friends, and members of the Hopkinsville community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Neveah Gill, 19, whose life was tragically cut short following a shooting Monday night at Eagle Crossing Apartments on Calvin Drive.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired at the apartment complex and arrived to find Gill lying in a nearby field suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators said she had reportedly been shot at least twice, sustaining injuries to her shoulder and abdomen.
Emergency medical personnel quickly rendered aid before transporting Gill to Jennie Stuart Health. Hopkinsville EMS reportedly performed CPR while rushing her to the hospital in an effort to save her life. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, Gill later succumbed to her injuries. The Christian County Coroner’s Office officially pronounced her dead.
