19-Year-Old Neveah Gill Dies After Shooting at Hopkinsville Apartment Complex

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — A 19-year-old woman has died after being shot Monday night at an apartment complex in Hopkinsville, according to authorities.

Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at Eagle Crossing Apartments on Calvin Drive. When they arrived at the scene, they found Neveah Gill lying in a nearby field suffering from gunshot wounds.

Investigators said Gill had reportedly been shot at least twice, sustaining injuries to her shoulder and abdomen. Hopkinsville EMS transported her to Jennie Stuart Health with CPR in progress. Despite life-saving efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.

The Christian County Coroner’s Office pronounced Gill dead at the hospital.

As officers continued their investigation, police were also called to the hospital following reports of a disturbance involving family members and medical staff.

Law enforcement secured the area where Gill was found and also blocked off an apartment within the complex as detectives gathered evidence and processed the scene.

Authorities said no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting at this time. However, two individuals who were reportedly found hiding in nearby woods were taken into custody as the investigation continued.

Police have not released additional details regarding a possible motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
