In Loving Memory of Joselito Billy Leopard Rivera

Family members, friends, and members of the Greenville County, South Carolina community are mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Joselito Billy Leopard Rivera, whose life was cut short in a fatal shooting early Thursday morning near Saluda Dam Road. 

Authorities say the shooting occurred just before 2:20 a.m., when deputies responding to reports of gunfire discovered evidence linking a nearby vehicle to the ongoing investigation. Rivera was later found deceased outside a residence at 421 Saluda Dam Road. Investigators believe he had been traveling with individuals inside the vehicle prior to an altercation that escalated into deadly violence.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, an arrest was made within hours of the incident. James Emanuel Waiters III, 20, has been charged in connection with Rivera’s death and faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Officials confirmed that another occupant of the vehicle, the driver, has not been charged as the investigation continues.
