Texas — A 26-year-old man was killed Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash involving a concrete overpass pillar, according to the Overton Police Department.
Authorities say Kameron Smiley was traveling westbound on Highway 323 around 5:40 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and continued beneath an overpass before striking a concrete support pillar. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following the crash.
Despite their efforts, Smiley was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the severity of the impact. Officials confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.
The Overton Police Department reported that the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
