Authorities are investigating a tragic incident in the Tomball area after a man and woman were found dead inside a home early Friday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Deputies said a 12-year-old girl called 911 shortly after midnight from a residence in the 12500 block of Baldwin Springs, reporting that she had found her mother unresponsive. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a woman inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was later identified as Rosiris Gonzalez and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As investigators continued to search the residence, they located a man in another room with a gunshot wound to the head. He was identified as Spencer Taylor, and officials confirmed he was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the child was found unharmed inside the home. During interviews with investigators, she reportedly shared that there was a known history of violence between her mother and Taylor.
Officials stated that no one else was inside the home at the time of the incident, and there were no signs of forced entry. The child was later released to a family friend after deputies were unable to immediately reach her older sister, who is currently with family in Venezuela.
Court records indicate that Taylor had previously been charged in 2023 with interfering with the duties of a public servant. In a prior statement, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office noted that Taylor had “refused to allow officers on scene to interview a victim” during an earlier incident at the same address.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths, which are being treated as a possible murder-suicide. Officials have not released additional details as the case remains active.
