In Loving Memory of James Woodruff III

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Ville Platte  community mourn the tragic and untimely passing of James Woodruff III, 29, who lost his life in a fatal vehicle crash in rural Louisiana.

James passed away in the early hours of Saturday, June 27, 2026, after his 2002 Toyota Tundra collided with a fallen tree blocking Louisiana Highway 106 near Liz’s Lane in the Oakdale area of Evangeline Parish. According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred around 12:25 a.m. as the vehicle was traveling westbound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the severity of the impact.

His sudden passing has left family and loved ones heartbroken as they come to terms with a life taken far too soon. James was known to those close to him as a valued presence in their lives, someone whose connection, familiarity, and shared moments meant more than words can fully express. To his family and friends, he was a son, a relative, and a friend whose absence leaves a deep and painful void.
