Family members, friends, and the Ansonia community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Yukahn Riffell, who passed away at the age of 21 following a tragic crash on Interstate 75 in Miami County, Ohio, on Saturday evening.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near State Route 41. Investigators said a 2010 Freightliner tractor-trailer had pulled onto the right shoulder within a construction zone due to a mechanical issue. Several minutes later, Yukahn’s 2005 Chevrolet Impala reportedly traveled out of its lane, entered the closed construction lane, and struck the rear of the parked tractor-trailer.
Despite the efforts of first responders, Yukahn succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
