With profound sadness, we remember and honor the life and service of LMPD Officer Anthony Elliott, 29, whose life was tragically cut short in a motorcycle crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 265 Sunday night.
Officer Elliott, a dedicated member of the Louisville Metro Police Department’s 4th Division, lost his life in the line of duty while off-duty. According to authorities, the crash occurred around 9:56 p.m. near the 36-mile marker on I-265 when his motorcycle collided with a semi-truck. Despite wearing a helmet, he was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators reported that the motorcycle became trapped under the semi-truck’s axles and caught fire following the collision. Fire crews from Anchorage and Middletown responded quickly and extinguished the flames. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed Elliott’s passing and described him as a committed officer who served with dedication, professionalism, and pride.
