Deputies: Man Calls 911 After Shooting Wife Dead in Kamrath Road Incident

A Clackamas County man is facing serious charges after authorities say he fatally shot his wife and then called 911 on himself, according to investigators.

Officials report that on Friday, 35-year-old Markus Warren Bowen contacted emergency dispatchers following a shooting in the 2200 block of South Kamrath Road in unincorporated Clackamas County. Bowen reportedly told dispatchers that he had shot his wife before deputies arrived at the scene just before midnight.

When law enforcement responded, they found 36-year-old Tara Jo Rae Deveny deceased at the residence. Authorities confirmed she had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Deputies located Bowen at the scene, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was later booked into the Clackamas County Jail and is facing a charge of first-degree manslaughter, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says the case remains under active investigation as detectives work to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Officials have not released further details regarding motive.
