Man Claims He Shot Woman After She Attacked Him in Tucson Apartment Incident

TUCSON, Ariz. — A woman was killed and a man has been arrested following a deadly shooting at an apartment complex near Golf Links and Pantano, according to the Tucson Police Department.

Officers were called on Monday, June 29, to the Lakeside Casitas Apartments on East Golf Links Road for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found 38-year-old Aimee Leigh Kimble dead on the back porch of a residence.

Police identified the suspect as William Michael Pritchard, 33, who lived at the apartment. Investigators said Kimble had been visiting Pritchard when the shooting occurred during an argument.

Pritchard was arrested and booked on a charge of second-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond.

During his initial court appearance, prosecutors alleged that Pritchard gave multiple conflicting accounts of what happened. According to court records, he initially claimed Kimble was a burglar but later admitted he had invited her to the apartment after meeting her online.

Authorities said Pritchard told investigators that Kimble demanded money for sex, which he refused, and that an argument escalated. He also claimed she became aggressive and attacked him before the shooting occurred.

Investigators further stated that evidence found at the scene raised concerns, including items allegedly linked to an attempt to clean up and move the victim’s body. Prosecutors also said Pritchard had made statements about disposing of evidence, though the full circumstances remain under investigation.

Court documents also referenced statements regarding Pritchard’s medical and mental health background, which his family has said affects his daily functioning.

Officials confirmed the investigation is still active, and additional details may be released as the case develops.

Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
