A 18-year-old man was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in Tarrant, according to the Tarrant Police Department.
Authorities said officers were called to the 3000 block of Grove Avenue around 9 p.m. on June 30 after receiving multiple reports of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived, they located the victim nearby suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as Mekell Jermaine Green, 18. Despite emergency response efforts at the scene, Green died as a result of his injuries.
Investigators say they are currently speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence to determine what led up to the shooting. At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
Police have not confirmed a motive in the case, and the investigation remains active. Officials are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist investigators to come forward.
