With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Lubbock, Texas community are mourning the tragic loss of Zeferino Sauceda, who passed away following a devastating single-vehicle crash on Wednesday, July 2.
According to the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit, officers were dispatched just before 9:40 p.m. to the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Erskine Street after reports of a serious crash involving injuries. Investigators determined that Sauceda, 48, was driving northbound on Milwaukee Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle for reasons still under investigation. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over, resulting in a tragic outcome.
Authorities confirmed that Sauceda was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was ejected during the collision. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he was later pronounced dead despite medical efforts to save his life.
