Blount County Crash Leaves Teen Dead, Four Others Injured

A Blountsville teenager was killed and four other individuals were injured Friday evening in a serious two-vehicle head-on crash, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Officials said the collision happened at approximately 7:10 p.m. on July 3 along Blount County 27 near Blount County 24, about six miles south of Springville.

Investigators reported that a 17-year-old driving a 2020 Toyota Camry was involved in a head-on collision with a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 31-year-old Amber D. Engelmann of Springville. After impact, the Camry became engulfed in flames.

The teen driver, identified as Kortni Nairmore, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Engelmann sustained injuries and was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for treatment. A passenger in the SUV, 31-year-old Cody Hardin of Springville, was also injured and taken to UAB Hospital.

Two young passengers in the Pathfinder, ages 5 and 6, were additionally injured and transported to a local hospital for medical care.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the crash, and officials say more details will be released as they become available.

Authorities are urging patience as they work to determine the exact circumstances that led to the deadly collision.
