DURYEA, Luzerne County — A teenage driver was killed Saturday night in a one-vehicle crash in Duryea, according to the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities identified the victim as Seth Dragos, 19, of Pittston, Pennsylvania, who was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m., Coroner Dion Fernandes said.
Duryea Police reported that the crash occurred on Coxton Road in the Narrows section, after emergency crews were called to the area for reports of a heavily damaged vehicle located in the roadway. When responders arrived, they found the vehicle had sustained significant damage consistent with a serious collision.
Investigators said preliminary findings suggest that speed was a contributing factor in the crash. However, officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full sequence of events leading up to the fatal incident.
Police have not released additional details regarding possible contributing circumstances, and it is not yet known what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
