In Loving Memory of Brock K. Jackson

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and the Aiken community are mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Brock K. Jackson, 20, whose life ended following a fireworks incident on Lake Keowee in South Carolina.

According to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred on the night of July 4 at a private dock on East Waterside Drive near Seneca. What began as a Fourth of July celebration quickly turned tragic when fireworks reportedly ignited and detonated prematurely, causing panic and forcing several people to jump into the water for safety.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 9:25 p.m. During the chaos, Brock was later found in the water inside a boat slip at the dock. He was pulled from the lake within minutes, and emergency medical personnel immediately began advanced life-saving efforts before transporting him to Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Despite all efforts to save him, Brock was pronounced deceased at approximately 10:45 p.m. His sudden passing has left family and friends in deep shock and sorrow as they try to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.

Authorities confirmed that his death is associated with the fireworks incident, and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause. Investigators are continuing to review whether his injuries were caused by the explosion or a possible impact within the dock area. No other injuries were reported.

Beyond the tragedy, Brock is remembered as a young man whose life held promise, potential, and meaning to those who knew him best. His absence has created an immeasurable void for his family, who are now holding tightly to memories, love, and the moments they shared with him.
