Benita Randle Fatally Shot in Early Morning Shooting Near Labadie and Newstead in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A woman has died following an early morning shooting Sunday near Labadie Avenue and Newstead Avenue, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said District 6 officers responded to the area at approximately 1:16 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from injuries related to the incident. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced deceased.

The victim was identified by loved ones as Benita Randle.

Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting as authorities work to determine what led to the incident. No additional details about a possible suspect or motive have been released.
