Muncie Woman Jama Clevenger Dies After Devastating Head-On Collision

The Muncie community is grieving the tragic loss of Jama Clevenger, 70, whose life ended after a devastating head-on crash on Indiana 32 in eastern Delaware County on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. near the intersection of Indiana 32 and County Road 800 East. Investigators believe an eastbound sport utility vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle before crossing into the westbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming SUV.

Jama Clevenger, who was driving the eastbound vehicle, suffered critical injuries in the crash. Emergency personnel transported her to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased despite lifesaving efforts by medical staff.

The occupants of the westbound SUV, including two adults and a young child secured in a child safety seat, were also taken to the hospital. Authorities said one adult sustained life-threatening injuries, while the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
