Deloris Langhorne, 70, Dies Following Domestic Shooting in Chesterfield County; Husband Charged with Murder

A Chesterfield County community is mourning the tragic death of Deloris Langhorne, 70, who died after a domestic shooting on Wednesday. Authorities have charged her husband, Milton Langhorne, 70, with second-degree murder in connection with her death.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, officers responded at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, to the 13500 block of Beachcrest Terrace following a report of a woman who had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found Deloris Langhorne suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment but later died from her injuries.

Police identified the victim as Deloris Langhorne, the wife of Milton Langhorne.

Following an investigation, Milton Langhorne was arrested on Thursday, July 23, and charged with second-degree murder, according to court records. He was taken to the Chesterfield County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending further court proceedings.

The investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing as detectives continue gathering evidence surrounding the circumstances of the incident.

The death of Deloris Langhorne marks the 16th domestic violence-related incident reported by 8News this year and the sixth such incident in Chesterfield County, highlighting the continuing impact of domestic violence within communities.
