Caleb Lopez, 20, Dies After Motorcycle Crashes Into SUV in Tulsa

Tulsa, Okla. — A 20-year-old motorcyclist lost his life Monday evening following a collision with an SUV near the intersection of 31st Street and Riverside Drive, according to Tulsa police.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:06 p.m. on June 22, 2026, after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Caleb Lopez critically injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a group of motorcycle riders was traveling northbound on Riverside Drive at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. Investigators said the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder SUV was attempting to make a left turn from the southbound lanes of Riverside onto eastbound 31st Street.

As the SUV entered the intersection, Lopez’s motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle, causing catastrophic damage. Witnesses who observed the collision remained at the scene and provided statements to investigators. Nearby video footage also reportedly captured the crash as it unfolded.

Authorities confirmed that Lopez was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Despite protective gear, he suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was treated by emergency responders but did not suffer significant injuries. Police said she was questioned and later released pending the outcome of the investigation.
