A 19-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in Moultrie County, Illinois, according to authorities.
The Illinois State Police reported that troopers were dispatched at approximately 12:30 p.m. to the scene of a collision along Illinois Route 121 near County Road 1600 East. When emergency crews arrived, they found that a serious crash involving two vehicles had taken place under circumstances that remain under investigation.
The Moultrie County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 19-year-old Cameron Crowe of Sullivan. Officials said Crowe was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1 p.m. due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding how the collision occurred or what factors may have contributed to it. It remains unclear whether weather, road conditions, speed, or other circumstances played a role. Investigators have confirmed that the cause of the crash is still being determined.
The second driver involved in the collision has not been publicly identified, and no additional injuries were immediately reported. Law enforcement officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing, with Illinois State Police working alongside the Moultrie County Coroner’s Office to reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.
Route 121 was temporarily impacted as first responders secured the area, documented evidence, and assisted those involved. Traffic was later cleared after investigative work at the scene was completed.
