Kayla Frizzell, 26, Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Randall County

One person has died following a tragic pedestrian crash late Sunday night, according to Texas Department of Public Safety officials.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on June 28 along FM 1541 south of Loop 335, when a vehicle was traveling northbound in Randall County. Weather and visibility conditions at the time have not yet been confirmed, but officials say the driver was unable to see the pedestrian in the roadway before the collision occurred.

DPS reports that the driver struck the pedestrian after failing to see them in time to avoid impact. Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after the crash was reported.

The pedestrian has been identified as 26-year-old Kayla Frizzell of Amarillo, Texas. Despite emergency response efforts, Frizzell was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the driver or whether any charges are being considered at this time. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances leading up to the crash, including roadway conditions, lighting, and possible contributing factors.
