With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the New Lenox and southwest suburban community are mourning the tragic loss of Dana Jenner, 47, following a severe weather-related incident at an RV resort in Kendall County on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and the Cook County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the 8500 block of Millbrook Road in Fox Township during a round of strong storms moving through the area. Authorities said Jenner was inside her camper trailer at an RV resort when a large tree was brought down by the severe weather, landing directly on top of the vehicle.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they discovered the camper heavily damaged with the fallen tree resting across it. Deputies confirmed that Dana Jenner was the only person inside the camper at the time of the incident. She was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collapse.
Officials noted that dangerous storm conditions, including high winds, were impacting the region at the time and are believed to have contributed to the fatal incident. No other injuries were reported.
Dana, originally from Tinley Park, was known throughout the southwest suburbs for her professional work in marketing and business consulting. She described herself as a “digital growth partner” and had built a career as a marketing consultant and business advisor since 2001. She was also actively involved in the local business community, participating in multiple chambers of commerce and women’s professional organizations across the region.
Her sudden and unexpected passing has left her family, friends, and colleagues heartbroken.
