17-Year-Old Coventry Teen Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Crystal Lake Road in Tolland

TOLLAND, Conn. — A 17-year-old Coventry teenager has died after being struck by a vehicle in a tragic pedestrian crash on Crystal Lake Road in Tolland on the night of July 5, 2026.

According to Connecticut State Police, the crash happened at approximately 10:40 p.m. when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Crystal Lake Road. The victim was identified as Blake Lemire, 17, of Coventry.

Police said Lemire was standing in the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle. Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, where earlier radio reports indicated that CPR was being performed as first responders attempted life-saving measures.

A Lifestar medical helicopter was requested during the emergency response but was later canceled due to weather conditions.

Following the crash, Crystal Lake Road was temporarily closed near Webber Road while authorities investigated the scene and worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. The roadway has since reopened.

The sudden death of Blake Lemire has left family, friends, and members of the Coventry community grieving the loss of a young life taken far too soon. Loved ones are mourning the tragic circumstances surrounding his passing and remembering the impact he had on those who knew him.
