MILFORD, Del. — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left two people dead Sunday evening in the Sugar Maple Farms community near Milford.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 4:15 p.m. on July 5 to the 7000 block of Sugar Maple Drive after receiving a 911 call from a man who reported that he had killed his wife before disconnecting the call.
Following the report, dispatchers and responding troopers made several attempts to contact the man, but were unable to establish communication. Members of the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team later entered the residence as part of the emergency response.
Inside the home, authorities found 38-year-old Jessica Bradley suffering from a gunshot wound and 43-year-old Brooks Bradley with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Delaware State Police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Detectives are reviewing evidence and gathering additional information to determine the sequence of events that led to the incident.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the investigation, including a possible motive. Additional information is expected to be released as investigators continue their work.
