Fatal Hawkinsville Crash Leaves Natashia James Dead, Driver Charged

A tragic single-vehicle crash in Hawkinsville, Georgia, has claimed the life of Natashia James, 33, leaving family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Abbeville Highway in Pulaski County. Authorities said 30-year-old Shireatha Morgan was driving a Mini Cooper northbound when the vehicle lost control while traveling along a curve in the roadway.

Investigators said the vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, and overturned. James, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Morgan was later charged with DUI, first-degree vehicular homicide, and failure to maintain lane in connection with the crash.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities continue working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
