Jason A. Lister, 43, lost his life after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Paris, Illinois.
According to the Edgar County Coroner’s Office, the tragic incident happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Roberts Street in Paris.
Authorities said an investigation determined that a vehicle driven by a Vermilion County resident was traveling north on Main Street when it struck Lister, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash.
Following the collision, Lister was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he later died from his injuries.
The Paris Police Department and the Edgar County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
