Family, friends, and members of the Apollo community are mourning the heartbreaking and sudden loss of Nicholas R. Grzybek, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal early morning crash on Saturday at the intersection of Route 66 and Mamont Drive in Washington Township.
According to authorities, emergency crews were dispatched after reports of a serious two-vehicle collision. When responders arrived, they were met with a devastating scene involving extensive damage to both vehicles, including a truck that had left the roadway and a sedan that had come to rest down a hillside. Despite the immediate and tireless efforts of first responders, Nicholas R. Grzybek was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene due to severe blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.
Officials confirmed that Grzybek was traveling northbound on Route 66 when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed the center line near the intersection and entered the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a pickup truck.
