CANTON, Ohio — A tragic act of gun violence has claimed the life of 19-year-old Jordan A. Horton, leaving his family, friends, and the Canton community searching for answers as police continue their homicide investigation.
Jordan was found with a fatal gunshot wound during the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in the parking lot of the Skyline Terrace Apartment Complex in the 900 block of Alan Page Drive SE. According to the Canton Police Department, officers and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered Jordan lying beside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to his lower back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives later determined that his death was the result of a homicide.
As the investigation progressed, Canton police identified two individuals they believe were involved in the fatal shooting. Authorities have issued a felony warrant for 16-year-old Savheon R. Monroe, who is wanted on charges of murder, felonious assault, and discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises.
A second felony warrant has been issued for 25-year-old Jason L. Singletary, a resident of the Skyline Terrace Apartment Complex. He is wanted on charges of complicity to commit murder, felonious assault, and discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises.
Investigators continue to piece together the events that led to the shooting and have not publicly disclosed a motive. Police are actively searching for both suspects and urge anyone who knows their whereabouts or has information related to the case to contact law enforcement immediately. Officials advise the public not to approach the suspects.
