According to the Hattiesburg Police Department, officers were called around 1:19 a.m. Thursday to the 800 block of Main Street in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, after receiving a report of a possible stabbing. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a victim suffering from injuries related to the incident. Despite emergency efforts, Rodney Gatlin was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the investigation at the scene, police arrested Trameika Carr, 48, of Hattiesburg, and charged her with second-degree murder.
