According to Russell County Coroner Mark Coots, authorities responded to the Caney Fork Creek area of Lake Cumberland after receiving reports of a drowning. The Russell County Coroner’s Office arrived at the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to investigate the incident.
Joshua Tyler Wethington, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, was pronounced dead at the scene. His sudden passing has left loved ones facing unimaginable grief as they come to terms with the tragic loss.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the drowning. Wethington’s body was transported to Frankfort for an autopsy by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office.
